| Micah's OT View of TEA PartiesMicah's take on TEA parties (chapter 2): 1Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. 2And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. 3Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil. 4In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. 5Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD. Let me paraphrase this passage to make it a bit more meaningful on this day of TEA parties: 1Woe to them that make laws to favor their greed, and dream up how to do it! When the time is convenient, they go about their ways implementing their plans. 2They like what you have and take it through the laws they’ve devised – your land and your home – and take them, leaving you no recourse; in this way, they ruin you and your children’s future. 3Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which you will have no say or control, neither will you be able to boast about it, because bad things are happening. 4In that day, those you’ve oppressed will say, “We are ruined; the law has taken my home, my land and given them to others; it’s just amazing how this was done! They’ve taxed my property to the point I can no longer keep it.” 5Therefore, you, O plunderer, will no longer be. You won’t even be able to toss a coin into the collection plate. God is not mocked! | | |

| Watching God's Grace Through Others in ActionVery recently, we received a Wal-Mart gift card from an anonymous giver. We think we know who the donor is (the Post Office mark gave us a HUGE clue), but that is immaterial. From my point of view, I have been watching, with joy, how God's grace provides for us in amazing and unsolicited ways. From "Please cart away this firewood..." to checks sent just in time to pay taxes, to a grocery card, to the Wal-Mart card, etc., etc., it's just amazing. Now, don't misunderstand me. I don't wish upon anybody the inability to "know" how you're going to pay for necessities, but if you do go there, you'll appreciate all the more seeing how our Lord's graces are directed by and from a loving God. Thank you, Jesus, for your unspeakable gift. - Keith | | |
| Lynchburg - NOTWell, as you can see, it's been a long time since I've posted. Thank you, everyone, for your patience and prayers. The title explains one thing I want to say. I received confirmation today that the Lynchburg opportunity will not be taking place. So, we are still bound to New Hampshire! After doing a grammatical, stylistic and otherwise technical review on a paper recently, I began wondering if there were an opportunity for me to earn a living by doing the same for other folks. Basically, I could provide some grammatical and technical quality assurance for web sites, brochures and other information and marketing materials for small businesses. I'm sure there's probably a market out there, expecially with the literacy rate of folks here in the US going down (I've seen some pretty awful stuff on the webosphere lately!) If any of you good folks have any good ideas along these lines, send me your comments. Thanks! - Keith | | |
| Chapter 88Never before have I been in a position to let a bill go by without paying it, and to let a discontinuation notice arrive. But, that's what I've had to do. Meanwhile, just before the drop-dead date arrives, something comes in (by His grace) that allows me to keep the wolves at bay. PTL. Next Tuesday I have an interview in Lynchburg, VA. Strategically, this would place us nearer to the heart of bluegrass country and almost in the middle of horse territory - where Stephen and Ashley would like to be. The opportunity looks like a good one. Pray also that all the knots would be tied, the i's dotted and the t's crossed, should this be the Lord's direction and leading. Thanks! - Keith | | |
